The Activist's Tarot

This is a collaborative project between myself and Lester Townsend. The Activist's Tarot is a new way of thinking and using the much loved concept of the tarot deck.

 

Lester completely reimagined the tarot, bringing it up to date, both conceptually and purposefully. Many of the outmoded traditional cards using anachronous depictions of such things as royalty are gone, replaced with recognisable and relatable modern characters, like the Activist.

The deck is intended for people who seek a socially inclusive and ecologically sustainable future, as well as a tool for mindfulness and wellbeing. Its central themes subvert the expectations placed on us by the white, cis-het, patriarchal, capitalist structures we find ourselves in.
